Christian Radio Station
Cotahuasi canyon is some of the most rugged country on earth. The 40+ communities are scattered, with many only accessible by hiking or horseback. How are we to share the gospel, spiritually encourage, and teach new Christians in these villages?
Church planting with the Quechua people of the Cotahuasi Canyon
Funding Needed: $ 3,197
SIM Ministry Project number: PE 91885
One way to meet this critical need is through daily radio broadcasts. Since May, 2008, Bible teaching via FM radio reaches into these communities, proclaiming God's truth and "feeding His sheep" with the Word of God. The Quechua church planters that cannot visit all the new village churches are now using "Radio Senda Cristiana" to supplement church planting and discipleship ministry.

Through the efforts of HCJB radio, Darrell Nickolaus of RF Specialties, and other international radio ministries, we are receiving technical help, programming, and help with training.
Portable, solar-powered, fixed frequency radios have been donated to the radio station. These have been a great blessing in helping us equip people to be able to listen to Radio Senda Cristiana.
Ultimately the station will be completely run by Peruvian Christians who will continue to benefit from ongoing involvement and programming oversight from international ministries and local church elders.
Also, please pray for wisdom in maintaining the radios and equipment, generators and antennas, and development of electrical power options for our remote transmitter site.
As this ministry grows in effectiveness, pray about helping to equip and support those sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to unreached Quechua villages in this difficult and rugged canyon area of Peru.
Many farmers and shepherds in the remote areas are unable to read and understand the scriptures on their own. Hearing God's Word, faithfully presented clearly from the radio studio, is reaching many who can't read. Many people, who are reluctant to participate in the Bible studies and church services located in some of the villages, listen to the messages in their home.
Carefully studying the Bible and practicing spiritual discernment is essential in the work of radio programming. As we work to learn and honor the Lord and His truth, the word of God, please pray that He would guide us in all wisdom and knowledge so that we will be faithful to the pure word of God.
